BLIND CONTOURS

An essential part of my practice is blind contour drawing. This allows me to give my full attention to an object. The objects range from plants, rocks, wood, buildings, bruises, shiny and dull things, people, and much more. The objects have all "stopped me in my tracks." They made me look at them as if they were calling upon me. The drawings not only function on their own but are used as a resource for paintings. Drawing has taught me to see the world with new eyes and to be more aware of my surroundings.
